Performance objectives are goals or outcomes which an employee agrees to accomplish, that will contribute to the success of the organization. Performance objectives can be as specific, measurable, agreed upon, reality-based and time-bounded as you like, but unless they’re actually achieved, they’re useless.
This course provides strategies and insights aimed at getting team members emotionally and intellectually engaged in achieving their objectives. Managers play a key role in engaging their staff so that they’ll be in position to achieve the agreed upon objectives. Managers also need to be able to articulate how these objectives fit into overall corporate goals.
Objectives: Participants who successfully complete this course should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- Recognize real beliefs and motivations.
- Explain and describe what constitutes an effective performance objective.
- Explain how an objective fits into the organization’s wider goals.
- Gain both intellectual and emotional engagement from team members.
