Performance objectives are goals which an employee agrees to accomplish, that will contribute to the success of the organization. Many managers use the SMART objectives mnemonic. Performance objectives can be as Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bounded as you like, but unless the agreed-upon outcome is actually achieved, they’re useless.
This course provides strategies and insights aimed at getting team members emotionally and intellectually engaged in achieving their objectives. Managers play a key role in engaging their staff so that they’ll be in position to achieve the agreed upon objectives. Managers also need to be able to articulate how these objectives fit into overall corporate goals.
